Basetao Spreadsheet: An Agent That Predates PandaBuy, Checked for Former PandaBuy Users

Checked · the PandaBuy Alternatives desk

Short answer

Basetao is one of the oldest agents still open: the Wayback Machine has its site from August 14, 2014, five years before PandaBuy was founded, and it ships from a Guangzhou warehouse. Its homepage advertises 0–5% service fees and up to 180 days of free storage; KakoGuide's June 2026 review found 5% standard and 120 days. For European buyers it accepts bank methods PandaBuy didn't, including Sofort, Bancontact and Multibanco. There's no app, and some reviewers complain about inflated chargeable weight.

16 finds for a slow-built Basetao haul

Weidian listings to collect over Basetao's long storage window. Each tile opens repbuysheet.com. We cap the grid at 16 finds so it loads quickly; behind it sit 10,000+ products.

Basetao vs PandaBuy: old and steady against fast and gone

Basetao and PandaBuy took different paths: PandaBuy grew fast on social media and closed after five years; Basetao grew slowly and is still trading after twelve. On terms:

The fee is the trade-off: Basetao's 5% is a cost PandaBuy didn't charge on items. In exchange you get longevity and generous storage, which after two big closures is what many people are looking for. Where the homepage and KakoGuide differ, plan on KakoGuide's lower storage figure and higher fee until your own account shows otherwise.

Verdict: Pay 5% for twelve years of track record. For many ex-PandaBuy users that's a fair trade.

Checking Basetao's chargeable weight

The most repeated complaint about Basetao is chargeable weight coming out higher than buyers expected. That usually comes down to volumetric weight: a box's size, divided by the line's divisor, can exceed its scale weight. Three steps keep it in check:

  1. Ask for the packed box dimensions along with the weight.
  2. Run them through the shipping calculator; if volume decides the price, ask for a smaller box.
  3. Remove shoe boxes and request vacuum packing on clothing.

It's the same advice that applied on PandaBuy, where parcels were charged the same way; the difference is that at Basetao you'll want to ask for it, since there's no app showing it at a glance.

Verdict: When the chargeable weight looks high, ask for the box dimensions. That's almost always the answer.

Paying Basetao from Europe

Basetao's payment list is the most Europe-friendly we've seen. Besides cards, PayPal, Alipay and crypto, KakoGuide lists Sofort and Giropay (Germany), Bancontact (Belgium) and Multibanco (Portugal), though Giropay itself closed at the end of 2024, leaving three live methods. Bank-based methods usually avoid the 3–4% card surcharges agents add, which on a €300 order is around €10.

EU buyers should also factor in the per-category duty introduced on July 1, 2026: €3 for each item category in a parcel under €150, plus VAT. Fewer categories per parcel means less duty, and the duty calculator shows the difference. City guides for Berlin and Paris cover delivery and the carriers.

Verdict: For EU buyers, pay Basetao by bank method and pack fewer categories per parcel.

Moving a PandaBuy sheet to Basetao

Moving a PandaBuy spreadsheet to Basetao: convert the links with the link converter, paste each clean Weidian or Taobao link into Basetao on the website (there's no app), and keep the clean column. With 120 days or more of storage, you can collect a haul over a few months and ship once.

If you'd rather have an app and photos per item, KakoBuy is the usual choice; if you want another long-running agent with a published fee table, see Superbuy.

Verdict: A slow, steady home for an old PandaBuy sheet, especially from Europe.

A browser-only Basetao routine

Basetao has no app, which for many former PandaBuy users (who did a lot through PandaBuy's app) is the biggest adjustment. A browser-based routine that works well:

  1. Keep your sheet open in one tab and Basetao in another; paste converted links straight across.
  2. Bookmark the order and warehouse pages so you can check arrivals in one click.
  3. Use your email notifications as the trigger to review QC, since there are no push alerts.
  4. Download QC photos you might need later; they're your evidence if anything is disputed.

The browser also makes it easier to compare: open the original listing's page next to Basetao's photos and check size charts and variants side by side. With storage of 120 days or more, you can work through a long sheet in batches over a few weekends.

For a phone-first workflow, LoongBuy and KakoBuy have apps; Basetao's appeal is longevity and European payment options rather than convenience.

Verdict: No app, but a calm desktop routine suits Basetao's slow, steady style.

Basetao questions from PandaBuy users

How old is Basetao?

The Wayback Machine holds a copy of basetao.com from August 14, 2014, which makes it one of the oldest agents still trading. That's five years before PandaBuy was founded in 2019 and about twelve years of operation so far, shipping from a Guangzhou warehouse. Age isn't a guarantee, but for anyone who lost money in a closure, a long record is a sensible starting filter.

What is Basetao's service fee?

Basetao's homepage advertises 0–5%, while KakoGuide's June 6, 2026 review found 5% as the standard rate. That's a charge PandaBuy never added to items, and it's the main trade-off for Basetao's long record and generous storage. Until your own cart shows something lower, budget for 5% on every order and compare the full bill with other agents.

How long does Basetao store items?

The homepage claims up to 180 days of free storage, but KakoGuide's June 2026 review recorded 120. Either figure beats PandaBuy's 90-day window, and it's enough to collect a haul over a few months and ship once. Since the two sources disagree, plan around 120 days, note each item's arrival date, and ship before that point unless your account confirms the longer window.

Can I run a Basetao haul from my phone, as on PandaBuy?

No. Basetao runs entirely through its website, which is the biggest change for people who did most of their PandaBuy ordering on a phone. A desktop routine works fine: keep your sheet and Basetao in two tabs, bookmark the warehouse page, and download QC photos you may need later. If an app matters, look at KakoBuy or LoongBuy; if longevity matters more, Basetao still fits.

Which European payment methods does Basetao accept?

KakoGuide lists Sofort and Giropay for Germany, Bancontact for Belgium and Multibanco for Portugal, though Giropay closed at the end of 2024. Cards, PayPal, Alipay and crypto are accepted too. Bank-based payments usually avoid the 3–4% surcharge agents add to cards, roughly €10 on a €300 order. If you're in one of those countries, the bank route is the cheaper way to pay.

Can I use PandaBuy links on Basetao?

Not directly. Run them through the link converter first, which pulls out the original Weidian or Taobao address, then paste that clean link into Basetao's website. Keep the converted column in your sheet as the master copy so it works at any agent later. With 120 days or more of free storage, you can work through a long PandaBuy sheet in batches and ship one combined parcel.

Is Basetao's age a reason to trust it?

Partly. A business trading since August 2014 has a long record behind it. But size and fame didn't save PandaBuy in 2024, and a long history doesn't rule out future problems either. Read Basetao's record as a good sign rather than a promise: pay per order, ship within the storage window and keep your own copy of the marketplace links.

How do I check Basetao's chargeable weight?

Ask Basetao for the packed box dimensions as well as the scale weight. Chargeable weight is often volumetric, meaning the box size divided by the line's divisor, and that can exceed what the scale shows. Put both numbers into the shipping calculator; if volume sets the price, request a smaller box, drop shoe boxes and ask for vacuum packing on clothes. Always check before paying freight.

Does Basetao suit EU buyers?

Yes, more than most agents. Its bank options cover Germany, Belgium and Portugal, and paying by bank avoids card surcharges. The bigger cost now is duty: since July 1, 2026, EU parcels under €150 pay €3 for each item category plus VAT. Basetao's long storage helps here, letting you plan parcels around category count rather than timing. Pay by bank and pack by category to keep costs down.
